I love this. I have watched Gone With the Wind many times. It is one of my favorites, but I love the way Michelle relates it to God’s love. That was awesome!

Yes, the problem with going to a new place (or new relationship or new situation) is that I have to take myself with me.

There are two kinds of shame. Legitimate shame is what Adam and Eve felt. It is God’s grace to show us that we cannot sin without becoming that sin – or in another words there is no sin (however appealing) without consequences. it is God’s grace because it stirs us to turn back to God again. If we push through this shame, we only become hardened.

The other kind of shame is toxic shame. It is not tied to a particular sin but remorse for who I am. It results from false messages from a fallen world. This kind of shame needs to be identified as such and set aside.
